Affirmations: 101
Affirmations are positive, helpful words or phrases we repeat, to ourselves, or maybe even aloud with others. They are a tool to help you manage stress, overcome obstacles, improve your health and well being, and help you make better choices for yourself.
Affirmations help us identify what we believe, and essentially affirm these beliefs to our brains. Repetition of affirmations on a regular basis is scientifically proven to encourage your brain to take these positive affirmations as truth. The idea here is that when you believe in yourself, and truly believe things are possible, you’ll naturally begin to take the actions necessary to make them happen.
I think affirmations are important! We practice affirmations regularly during our kids yoga classes in Fort Worth, and this is a practice I’ve been wanting to start at home with my own family for a while. Now I invite you and your family to join us! Starting this week, we’ll be going live every Sunday afternoon with a guided positive affirmation that you can practice with your family to help kick off your week with an amazing start!
You can practice the affirmation just as it is, or adapt it to best suit the needs of our own family. I encourage you to continue to practice the weekly affirmation each day of that week. It doesn’t have to be first thing in the morning - You could start this practice before bedtime! Choose a time that works best for you and your family, and try to stick with it so you can more easily form this amazing healthy habit.
